[book review] Жътварите/The Reapers

[book review]Grocery Store Alphabet Game

Title:Grocery Store Alphabet Game Author: Teresa Stern Note: I recieved a review copy in exchange of my opinion Pre-read thoughts: As you may judge from my last reviews, amidst my exam session, I was finding my inner child, and taking on reviewing books for children. That kinda made me feeling silly and happy. The Story: Mom and kid are on to do some grocery shopping, but the little one thinks this is such a dull task. But Mom is about to turn this into a fun game After-read thoughts: Grocery Store Alphabet Game (GSAG) is a short and cute book that actually hides many benefits among its few pages. For starters, it's a nice story for beginner readers or to go through with a parent. The book introduces in alphabetical order some grocery vocabulary, but doesn't limit itself to just point and name objects. The story about Kayla and her mom was actually cute an interesting. While the two search for and pick items to qualify for the alphabet game, they share short sto...

[book review] INK/МАСТИЛО

Title: INK Author: Glenn Benest & Dale Pitman Series: INK #1 Note : I received a free copy from the author in exchange of my honest review Pre-read thoughts: Books about books - and books about authors - always hold a special charm, something apart the told story. They have that way to invite the reader, to welcome it and make it part of that exclusive world and to push a bit his or hers imagination. Stories like this alwyas give me a nice and fuzzy feeling, no matter if we're talking about Seth from the Succubus blues, or The City of Dreaming Books, or even Katy's blogging from Lux. Here, in INK, we're on to meet an author, and his characters from a novel - but this time, it is a graphic novel. The Story: Brian Archer is the author of a best-selling series of graphic novels, following the adventures of The Highwayman, the anti-hero bringing justice to the murdered. But in the last months Brian has locked himself in his studio, alone with his imagination ...

[book review] Children's book of magic/Детска книга за магия

Title: Children's book of magic Author: Konrad Modzelewski Note : I received an e-copy in exchange of my honest review Pre-read thoughts: I received Children's book of magic along with the other short reference of the same publisher, First Aid for Children and Infants . My interest was picked by the First Aid book, but I decided to check both. While the first book was very useful and straight to the point, the other promised to be way more relaxed and fun. The Story (well, you know): Yet again, the subtitle summarizes it nicely - the book contains 30 magical tricks for young wizards. With two helpers to show you all the secrets of the art, be ready to amaze your audience. After-read thoughts: My, this was such a beautiful book! With very rich and delicate art, lot of detail, giving it the feeling of the 19th century ci...

Title: First Aid for Infants and Children Author: Mikolaj Laski Note : I recieved and e-book copy in exchange of my honest review Pre-read thoughts: When I first glanced the book, I got really curious on how it would be presented. I must admit that at first I thought the target reading group of the book were the children themselves (not infants, of course), helping other kids in case of emergency. The Story (sort of): Well, the sub-title really says it all - the book covers 30 common emergency situations. After-read thoughts: I really liked thid book, in both layout and the information given. At first I was bit surprised, because as noted, I thought the readers were supposed to be younger, and wondered how the author would go about it. But as I continued on, I quickly got over it, because honestly, this book is suitable for basically anyone, be it a parent or not; and most advices are well aplicable for grown-ups as well. The book has inside 30 types of cases, all in al...
